I fog with FGMO and wintergreen with great results.
Immediate knockdown of the varroa, and immediate stimulation of hygenic behaviour throughout the hive.
Quick, cheap and effective.
Don't assume the government is always right.
Look at the atmospheric atomic weapons testing, or WMD's in Iraq.
Why are you so angry?

Your attitude and "all or nothing" approaches that denigrate people that choose to do things differently than you are prohibitive to helping people learn. This is by far the worst source of "information" I have found on the web, and is completely backward from the attitude of most beekeepers, which is helpful and polite.

In spite of the writing on this site regarding the inappropriateness of managing feral Africanized bees, that is exactly what I am doing, and our entire club, the BackwardsBeekeepers, are doing. The disease and pest resistance, the hygienicity of our ferals is dramatically stronger than inbred EHB from packages. We rescue and rehome bees from cutouts, trap outs and swarms uniformly and work with cities and municipalities to respond to homeowner needs for removal. Our bees draw their own comb as well---no contaminated wax foundation or plastic frames are ever used. We are getting very strong honey production

Thanks for the info I have been wanting to start a hive just to watch and enjoy. May give a little honey away. I dont eat it due to my diabetes. Am a retired Veterinarian and will enjoy learning about bee keeping and studying the diseases and syndromes. Just to keep the ole thinker going. I will use your site for supplies as needed. Thanks HML

3rd year of small apiary. Found your site most informative and up to date. Swarm prevention information is very interesting and (we hope) useful. Due to our wet climate, beekeeping can be a challenge.....cool wet spring and early wet fall. Have not lost a hive yet though, perhaps because we're on a small island out of flying range from diseased areas.
Thanks for all the good information.

My Love is highly allergic to any venomous bee stings. what should we purchase to protect him in our outside living space? A bee keeper suit, cause he would. haha but really what can we do to prevent using one of our pens?

You need the pen, especially when outside. Don\'t take any chances.

Thanks for your words of wisdom. I appreciate the fact that you have taken the time to share with others your knowledge. I always knew about the honey but as far as why honey crystalized I hadn't a clue. Once again thanks.

Some Bee Gone spilled in my truck. Is there anything that will cut the smell? Nothing that I have tried has worked. I have scrubbed with every soap I know of, and bleach. I'm going to try paint thinner next. Please contact finet@hotmail.com Thanks, Ron

Not only is CCD a very serious issue for this area, we have also noted a precipitous decline in natural pollinators like bumblebees.
