Hi please could you sort out your java as the latest update blocks your site giving the following info : SOLUTION The application that you are running is blocked because the developer has not met with the security guidelines implemented in Java 7 Update51. It is in your best interest to contact developer or publisher of this application and let them know about the application being blocked. Also provide developers with these links that gives details about implementing secure practices in the code for the application. JAR File Manifest Attributes for Security Java SE 7 Security Documentation Secure Coding Guidelines for the Java Programming Language, Version 4.0 many thanks Glenn message from iww:- Thanks for the feedback. The developer no longer supports the Java version of stormtracker, and there is going to be no further work done on it. The new app which does not use java, and runs in near real time, is now viewable here. http://www.isleofwightweather.co.uk/StormVueNG.htm |

This is a java issue. You need to relax the security settings in control panel / java to medium. This applet is uded all over the world and does not pose a security risk. |

Despite being across the Solent (lol!) I have been a member of this site for many years - since around 2004/5. I always get the alerts (thanks). I wanted to ask, as I live so near to the IOW in Portsmouth - is the forecast and storm info relevant to me? I have to say, it has been on most occasions. I look toward the IOW and see the storm coming. I have been able to bring my washing in within plenty of time - lol! Thankyou. message from iww:- thanks for the feedback. Nice to be of some use. |

13:45 18/04/13 - I think you need to check the range mapping of your storm tracker. We\'ve just had a short storm here which doesn\'t appear on your plots, but you do show a line of storms between Cumbria and Durham. Checking against Blitzortung.org there\'s no activity showing up there, but they do show a line of storms across central southern England along the path of the one we had. message from iww:- thanks for the feedback. I have just replaced the lightning detector, and adjusing ranging etc. but with not much activity, this is difficult to do. |

Hi at this moment we are having a lightning storm and it is not showing up on your map. Reply from iww.....Despite my best efforts, the Boltek is not 100% accurate, and some storms do get missed for some reason or an other. |

I also run a Boltek Detector here. Just wondered whether you\'ve seen astrogenics new near realtime display StormVueNGX? Worth Downloading via the Astrigenic Forum if you havent. Provides a 4 second update and great for comparing with other stations for calibration purposes. Great source of information, thanks. I do have one question. How can the solar readings exceed circa 1000W/m2? I understand this can only be obtained if the Sun is directly overhead, as the sensor should apply a cosine adjustment for the angle between the vertical and the sun itself. However, you show the reading well above this at times. Many thanks. Reply from iww...... Many thanks for the feedback. This is just what the sensor reports. It will be changed due to age shortly, so we can see if this has anny effect on the readings.. |
