Can anybody remember a funfair located on empty ground adjacent to Knowle Speedway in the 1950s? I think it used to be a yearly event and lasted about 2 weeks?

I lived in Fanshawe Rd, Hengrove; the funfair was a short walk away up Walsh Ave and Petherton Rd.

By memory I think it was called "Gorams" fair. I seem to remember in the early days a huge hairy giant with a long beard which used to sway in the wind sitting on a huge chair at the entrance which was called "Goram"
