Rupps snacks Pigsty Hill

Does anyone remember dear old Mr Rupp and his cooked meat and pie shop on Pigsty Hill? I still drool at the thought of his little pasties, chicken and mushroom pies and his goulash pies! I did not realise at the time(the 1960s) that he was from Hungary or Poland. He also used to make lovely little strawberry tarts.
Nostalgia ain't what it used to be!

Re: Rupps snacks Pigsty Hill

My daughter was 47 during the past week and you question reminded me that we bought food for her christening from Mr Rupp.

In my recollection Mr Rupp always served in the shop and I cannot remember anyone being there. I always thought he was Polish.

The strawberry tartlets were fabulous and is the thing that I remember best!
