Photo Wanted

I have been searching for sometime now for any old photos of Acacia Road,
Staple Hill, imparticular a grand old detached house called Acacia Villa
that used to stand in large gardens with a huge Acacia tree, apparently this
is how the road became named Acacia road. It was located about 75 metres
back from the Mail House pub. The villa was prominent and well known many
years ago by everyone in the area. It was pulled down in the 1960's and two
detached houses were built in its place. We believe that the villa was a
coaching Inn hundreds of years ago.

My Mum spent her childhood there with her parents and as an only child has
many wonderful memories of happy times with lots of children always coming
to play in the garden. She was born in 1934 and it was her home until her
early teens.

So many times in recent years Mum has reminisced and wished she had a
photograph of the villa.

I have been to both Bristol and Gloucestershire records offices with no
luck. There seems to be no trace of the existence of Acacia Villa. I have
had a message on 'curiousfox.com' for sometime but have not received any
reply's. I thought perhaps the planners or developers may have taken photos
before demolishing but there appears to be nothing.

Thought it was worth dropping you a line. Perhaps you might know some other
avenue I can explore?

Thanks and best regards,

Mrs Teresa Willis.
