Your list of the Wingfield line is most helpful! I was getting very confused between all the Johns, Richards, & Thomas! This isn't the only line, of mine where all the men had the same name without a middle initial!! My line goes through the Gousills, & Keenes, to the Mauzy line. Are you related to any of those?

My Dad was from Leeds Maine, where Daniel Lane settled in 1782. I'm still trying to confirm the birthplace of John Lane, as I've seen it listed on various sites that he was born in ME, MA, and even England. Your site gave me so much more information on history of my family name. Thanks So Much!!! There is more history from Daniel Lane's era onward to the present day in a book called History of Leeds Maine.
