Jerry Corbetta and Steve Walsh

Hi. I'm new to this forum. I read somewhere that in 1997 Jerry Corbetta lead singer/keyboardist for Sugar Loaf replaced Steve Walsh in Kansas for a time. Is this true and if so was this during Steve's rehab following his D.U.I arrest in 1995?
