When you visit where do you stay?

When you come here to visit where do you stay? Rental House, Campground, Motel, other? Would you recommend it to others?
People often call and ask us where to stay....its hard to honestly anwser because I cant say I have even seen the inside of any of the motels....dont know if I would stay or not....

Surfside near the pier was great three years ago. New caretakers now, so I don't know anything about it. I've heard good things about Tiffiany's and Loggerhead. With the ecomony like it is, we all may hesitate to spend the money; a two hour commute may be more feasible for some of us.
We stay at the Island Inn. Picnic tables outside all of the rooms, quiet and close enough to walk to the pier! There are kitchenettes in the rooms. It's not the Ritz, but it's always clean and comfortable!
Where is the Island Inn?
I read from the Pier Witch that the mullet are coming in at night. Thinking about getting down Friday afternoon around 5:00 - 6:00 PM and try fishing during the night. Probably will be cold. Can't remember what the weather is going to be. Anyway, I hope to go down 4/10/2009 for the first time this 2009.
The Island Inn is about 1/4 mile or so North of the pier. It's second row with close beach access.

I finally made it down Friday, 4/10. It was great to be there. Lots of Shark and Skates, but I did get some mullet and croaker. Still WISHING!
We always bring our camper and stay at the Surf City Campground.
Great little campground and Lonnie and his wife are great.
if u r looking a place to stay i plan on buying the white single wide near the bridge (on same side as food lion). i plan on renting it out. current owner has really come down on asking price and i am in a position to buy now. i live about 2 hrs away and love surf city. we fish on the pier regularly. reply if interested.

HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS MOTEL. MY DAUGHTER KIM WORKS THEIR. NICE MOTEL, CLEAN . SWIMMING POOL THEIR TOO.

for the past 5 summers me and my wife have stayed at Laniers Family campground (just on the otherside of the swinging bridge). We love it there.It is close to everything. Short .5 mile drive to the peir and the beach. Also on the campground it has everything you need. AC in the bathhouse, swimming pool, playground, store,grill, fishing dock/boat ramp. Not to say the some of the most freindlest people you would ever meet. Weekend activities.Most reasonable rates you will ever find 24.00 a night stay 6 7th is free.they accomadate everything from a tent to a slide out.
I saw the forum from back in April about you buying the single wide. I was wondering if you did & what your rates are? I go down to SCP almost every weekend starting end of Sept. & usually sleep in my van but sometimes I do rent somewhere. Please email me info.
