Why didn't RSE "borrown" THIS from Hinduism?

They "took" Shiva and remade his-story. They took the "chakras" and call them "seals." Why didn't they "borrow" the following?

"The fool tries to control his mind.
How can he ever succeed?

Mastery always comes naturally
To the man who is wise
And who loves himself."

-Ashtavakra Gita 18:41

I love the Upanishads. If I was on a desert island and could only take one thing to read.. that is what I would take.

Re: Why didn't RSE "borrown" THIS from Hinduism?

here's one from Kabir I like, again wise beyond ramtha's scope:

O servant, where dost thou seek Me?
Lo! I am beside thee.
I am neither in the temple nor the mosque:
I am neither in the Kaaba nor in Kailash:
Neither am I in rites and ceremonies,
nor in Yoga and renunciation.
If thou art a true seeker,
Thou shalt at once see Me.
Thou shalt meet Me in a moment of time.

—Songs of Kabir translated by Rabindranath Tagore.
