Wine Ceremony 8 Hour No-Drive Window?

A family member of mine was at an event about a year ago where they began a wine ceramony that she did not want to take part in. So, she went back to her trailor and decided to stay in focus and be in meditation by herself.

Not long after this, she got a call of her Emergencies only cell phone saying something important had happened, no one was dying or anything, but it was an emergency which she needed to handle and so she went to the gate and told them she needed to leave.

It was at this time she was refused through the gate to head back home. She had obviously had nothing to drink, she didnt even smell like wine from being around OTHER people drinking because she had not been in the big arena. Still, they refused to let her leave, while there was an emergency going on. They said they could hold everyone for 8 hours after a wine ceramony i guess, or something to this effect.

Anyhow - has anyone else had similar experiences where they were held against their will during a moment when it was very important they leave? That was definately a little bit unnerving, even for a woman who is afraid of pretty much nothing.

Re: Wine Ceremony 8 Hour No-Drive Window?

Bliss, I think the 8 hour rule is really for the protection of the students and the community surrounding RSE.

In your friend's case, I think she should hae been given a breathalizer and allowed to go home.

Re: Wine Ceremony 8 Hour No-Drive Window?

Your friend could have called the police or sheriff and requested an escort off of the property. But that did not occur to her because of the mind control at RSE - all students MUST do what they are told. She truly believed she couldn't leave.

Holding someone against their will is called abduction and it's illegal.

Re: Wine Ceremony 8 Hour No-Drive Window?

Well, yes, I'm sure that she couild have used her cellto call the police. But no student wants the police to escort them off the property since its clear they wouldnt be allowed back later.

Also, if she hadnt had a cell phone that could have possed a problem, and hasnt Ram and JZ adamantly aposed cell phones for a while now? Alot of those flks dont have cells. Just dont think its terribly a good rule. I get it for people who are drunk, NOT for folks who are perfectly safe to drive.

Why is it "clear they wouldn't be allowed back later"? If the purpose of calling for the police escort was to make sure this student was sober and that she didn't harm anyone while driving back home, then wouldn't the police escort serve to protect JZK Inc. from legal liability? Why wouldn't RSE allow this student to attend future events?

Does RSE not allow any student to bring a cell phone to events in case of emergency, such as an accident or illness affecting their family? One would think JZ is smart enough not to give students grounds to sue her for unlawful restraint or whatever this would be called. But perhaps this is a ***** in JZ's legal protection. RSE should have a policy that allows students to call for a police escort off the grounds when students really need to leave after a wine ceremony.

Re: Wine Ceremony 8 Hour No-Drive Window?

In my 2nd to the last sentence, I did not use a profanity. I used the word *****.

Re: Wine Ceremony 8 Hour No-Drive Window?

Obviously this site has a glitch. Let's try this again. The word I tried to use was C H I N K.

As in a c h i n k in one's armor, this word is not a profanity!

Re: Wine Ceremony 8 Hour No-Drive Window?

onehand,

the forum AUTOMATICALLY uses asterisks for some words...yes, i am sure it's frustrating, but i just want you to know it's across every msg board that they host, and it's fairly common for other types of board hosting services, also.
it has happened to me on this board, too!

it's not personal at all to any of us...it's just the computer program trying to help keep things on the straight and narrow. it's not perfect, but it's the best we have

there are ways around it, as you noticed. you can separate the letters....or partially spell it and use asterisks...that can help.

sorry this happened to you (or any of us who don't have any ill intent), but please bear with it.

Re: Wine Ceremony 8 Hour No-Drive Window?

There a 4 payphones located in proximity to the Arena.

If someone needs to ask the police for assistance in order to be able to leave RSE why would they want to go back?

Re: Wine Ceremony 8 Hour No-Drive Window?

I think they mean leave an RSE event to attend to an emergency and not leave RSE to never go back.
