Don't Believe Everything You Think

Don't Believe Everything You Think by Thomas Kida
published 2006 by Prometheus Books

"People often think of a skeptic as someone who is cynical, always looking for the fault in things. However, a skeptic is just a person who wants to see and evaluate the evidence before believing."

"It's the quality of our reasons for believing that make us intelligent and thoughtful individuals and the more important or extraordinary the belief, the more compelling the evidence should be before we believe it."

This easy to read book provides many examples of errors in thinking. Very useful.

Re: Don't Believe Everything You Think

Dorothy,

Welcome,

It seems that during the nineties there was a flood of books offering DIY roadmaps
to spiritual Nirvana and material success..
Now come the movies camouflaged as entertainment proselytizing
for a particular religious/political group or cult.
The “What the Bleep” movie is at the forefront of this deceptive trend.
The counterfeiters are getting more convincing and sophisticated.

Thank you for your book recommendation....
