County schools championships

At last night's championships held at Bedford we had two who competed

Leonie Brunning improved on her pb online the high jump to 1.61 which is well above the qualification for the English schools finals next month and won

Cameron Rayner won the 200 m in a new pb of 24.1 which is 1/10 outside the qualifying standard (24.0). Cameron is now looking for races to get that qualifying standard before the selection meeting next week to get below the mark

We have fingers crossed for both that Leonie and Cameron will be in that team

Re: County schools championships

Having searched and seen on the Bedfordshire and Luton Schools aaa Web site the lucky selections are listed.

Leonie and Cameron have been selected!

The English schools championships are the pinnacle of any school young athlete and is fondly known as the mini Olympics as the best of the very best are there and it is where tomorrow's future international athletes can first be viewed, and we have Leonie and Cameron in that window

I am sure we wish them all well and good luck during the champs being held at Alexander Stadium Birmingham 7, 8 and 9 July
