Agreed, agreed, and more agreed, Toni! I forgot to mention the seemingly likely alcohol (or other substance) factor, but it was one of the first things I thought of, as with Mustaine. And yes, that's just it-- this kind of ignorant hate speech IS dangerous, and undoubtedly there's a racist component to much if not most of it. It's a disgrace. And I'm getting really worried about the election now, too. I'm seeing a lot more Romney TV ads lately than Obama ones, at least locally. Perhaps a state by state strategy, since Iowa's a swing state and went for Obama last time, but Romney's campaign overall has been raising more money, for obvious reasons. Less than three months till the election-- yikes!
Williams Jr. says, "Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood. My analogy was extreme – but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me - how ludicrous that pairing was."
He continues, "They’re polar opposites and it made no sense. They don’t see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the President.”
Williams Jr. adds, "Every time the media brings up the tea party it’s painted as racist and extremists – but there’s never a backlash – no outrage to those comparisons… Working class people are hurting – and it doesn’t seem like anybody cares. When both sides are high-fiving it on the ninth hole when everybody else is without a job – it makes a whole lot of us angry. Something has to change. The policies have to change.”
Where's the Dixie Chicks?

Which analogy or "pairing" is Hank, Jr. referring to here, Dale, and why was it "ludicrous"? As for his claim that his opinions are "often misunderstood", there's not a whole lot to misunderstand about his comparing Obama to Hitler--either they're alike or they're not-- nor about his declaring Obama a "Muslim" despite Obama having been consistently and visibly Christian for many years, and then saying he hates him. Where are the Dixie Chicks, you ask? Don't have a clue, but judging from their open anti-Bush sentiments awhile back, including those on the only album of theirs I ever bought, wherever they are they're probably being as opinionated and up-front as ever. If they're not on tour and don't specifically call a press conference to discuss their current political opinions, however, as many celebrities do not, we aren't likely to know where they are or what they're saying. All I gotta say is, let's all hope to high heaven or Holy Hera they don't have to put out an anti-Romney album in a year or two!!
Bush duped me on many many things.
BUT
Bush didn't kill the surplus, he wounded it...
Obama came in it sure isn't getting back up.
Obama didn't get the worst economy pass off in history, Reagan did and by this time in his first term the economy was back in stride.........
The Hank quote was just a copy & paste.
Just like Harry M.Reid, people can voice opinion say a bunch of crap and appologize later.
Peace,
