I'm thinking you're 100 percent correct, Dale. There is no video. The DVD/Audio format allows for improved sound quality. I recently bought David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust 40th Anniversary LP which came with a DVD/Audio disc. Because it is a DVD the audio selection is viewable on your tv screen. You can choose between 96/24 PCM Stereo or the 5.1 48/24 DTS & Dolby Digital. All digital should sound this good! I recently picked up a nice sounding Integra Universal player for $150 which plays DVD Audio, SACD, Video DVD, CD's, etc. If you don't have to have Blue Ray these pre blue ray players are basically obsolete and thus much cheaper yet the audio quality is very good.
Don't panic anybody. Amazon.de and jpc.de both announce an alternative single-CD release that contains the 2004 remastered stereo mix plus the quad versions. What more can you ask for? It's on presale right now, scheduled street date is Sept. 21.; price it OK, IMO:
