The Magical Hystery Tour - chapter 33 (back on the bus).

Reg: And lead guitarist, Marco Pirroni, quit Adam and the Ants because he was fed up with touring, leading Adam to wind the original band up ...

Don: Oh, not this again ...

Reg: ... and Obama would be a good example of a moderately introverted president, whereas Clinton was a good example of an extroverted one ...

Toni: ... Reg, Reg! You promised that you would get back to discussing 'the name thing'.

Borje: And I thought you would be winding this all up after thirty chapters.

Tony: Yes. And we're now on chapter 33 ...

Dennis: ... and still no end in sight!

Reg: Guys. And gals. OK. I promise - only a few chapters to go. Let's get back on the bus, and I'll get back to discussing 'the name thing' in a minute.

So the passengers walk the short distance from outside Colin's house back to the bus,
where the mysterious hooded driver has remained seated. They resume their previous positions, as they wait for Reg to address them again.

Reg: Well, I hope you all enjoyed that little insight into one of Alvin's previously unknown formative musical experiences.

Dave: Which you just completely made up!

All: Ho ho, chuckle, hee hee ... etc.

Toni: Come on guys - give Reg a chance!

Dave: All we are saying ...

All: ... is give Reg a chance. All we are saying, is give Reg a chance ... ha ha, chortle, ho ho ... etc.

Toni: Guys!! Stop it!

Freddy: Well, Toni - do you believe it? 'Colin'?

Glenn: And ... 'Karl'?

JJ: Playing along to 'Saturday Club' ... on the radio?

Toni: I ... er ... I'm not sure ...

Stan: Toni - is Alvin reading this?

Toni: I was wondering when that question would come up ... I dread to think.

DLM: Well, he'll know if it's true or not!

Dennis: Why don't you ask him?

Toni: No guys. If he's reading, he's reading. If he's not, he's not. That's all I'm saying.

Eric: At least you could ask him ... 'Karl' 54, or 'Carl' 57?

Jane: He would know ... surely?

Dave: You're assuming that one of them is true ...

Don: ... when both of them were probably just picked out of that photo at random.

Freddy: Same as ... 'Colin'. Picked out with a pin!

Victor: Blindfold!

All: Tee hee, giggle, splutter, ha ha ... etc.

Toni: If he tells me anything, he tells me. If he doesn't, he doesn't.

Borje: If these guys really exist, Reg ...

Ignaz: ... and if you're as clever as you obviously think you are ...

BS: ... then maybe you can tell us what they're doing now!

All: Ha ha ha, ho ho ho ... etc.

Toni: Guys ... this isn't fair ...

Les: Yeah ... and with photos!

Half the passengers are laughing uncontrollably. The other half are also in hysterics, but also either rolling on the floor, or clawing helplessly at the windows, or banging their
heads on the back of the seat in front.

Reg: Well, yes ... maybe I can do all of that. And more ...

Could I at least have another line about Nuno Bettancourt? No? How 'bout Stuart Goddard? :-)

Re: The Magical Hystery Tour - chapter 33 (back on the bus).

Darn, I was hoping for at least 50 chapters, but now that I own a 1959 copyright to "Yesterday", "Whiter shade of pale", "Staying alive" and a few other tunes, I'm actually ready to go back to 2012. Thinking of buying a nice little island for the money I can collect from those copyrights when we get back. Wonder if Bahamas is for sale..?

PS, wonder whatever happened to Vivien Lee, and why is our mysterious bus driver suddenly blushing under his ZZ-Top alike false beard?

Re: The Magical Hystery Tour - chapter 33 (back on the bus).

I don't know what Alvin knows. I don't even know what I know. I'm still trying to get a handle on Karl and Carl and how Brian Matthews can still be on the radio when he's obviously 110 years old and whether President Obama plays lead guitar in secret and what the heck happened to Chapter 24.

I do, however, believe in Reg's ability to entertain (and in Colin).

Re: The Magical Hystery Tour - chapter 33 (back on the bus).

Brian Matthew is coming up to 84.

He graduated from radio to TV in the early '60s. He can easily be found on YouTube. E.g.

YouTube searchbox: 'Spin-a-disc (THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS 1963)'

Worth watching all the way through. TYLS was a very big music TV show in the first half of the '60s. Very likely that Alvin would have been a regular viewer.

A little bird whispered in my ear that Alvin haven't been able to follow this story because he's away on some nostalgia trip around the Nottingham area. Not even Evi is said to know exactly where, and when, he is right now..
