On the Road to Freedom

Just ordered CD's "On the Road to Freedom" and E.G. Kight's "Lip Service" from Amazon...Haven't listened to OTRTF since the 70's so I'm anxious to "really listen to it" once again...

Re: On the Road to Freedom

Very good decision, great record, maybe the 1st unplug ever (kind off)
And surely great choice right before listening to :

Still on the road to freedom which I cannot wait for !!!!!

Re: On the Road to Freedom

Re: On the Road to Freedom

Well, both CD's came in this week, and I've listened to OTRTF all the way through 3 or 4 times now...I really can't believe that a recording that I disliked so much nearly 40 years ago is now a recording that I want to hear over and over...Can a persons taste really change that much over time...Also, this recording confounds me a bit...I'd completely forgotten about the 3 or 4 cuts with a bit of Cosmic Cowboy feel to them...Whose influence am I listening to on those songs?...Is it all Alvin's?...Mylon's?...It really conjured up the days of The New Riders of the Purple Sage, Commander Cody and the like...Any good stories floating around about how these songs came about?...
