I agree Saguitar is probably Alvin's best work to date, but Watt speaks to me on a very personal level. It was the right music at the right time - a very transitional and formative part of my life - and opened a lot of doors muscially and otherwise.
"My Baby Left Me" helped me get over somebody who really stomped all over my heart, for example.
Probably the best Christmas present my parents ever bought me - and one they probably regretted as it was played repeatedly at volume 11.
Originally titled What, Watt is still my favorite TYA release.
It may have been a rush to release album to get out of their contract, but I get off on the jazz phrasings.
Also I think Alvin used a Talk=box years before Peter Frampton made them famous.
Peace,
DLM
