Re: Re: Speaking of biting the dust....

What bothers me even more than the underhanded dealings of many of our elected officials (and that is bad enough!) is the way they try to spin when they are forced resign or drop out of an election race in shame, but try to act like it was their choice and somehow they are doing the "noble" thing!

The arrogance and conceit of these so-called "leaders" and "public servants" is staggering!

Well said. It's so blatent and over the top. It's like watching a bad movie. I guess all you need is a flag lapel pin and a constant grin and you're good to go.

Well common sense should be a major factor in everything and we have public officals with NO!!I mean not even a flea, spec!! not even a Atoms worth,I mean not a drop to be found, not enough to blow there nose I mean if you took all there common sense, and rolled it up it would look like a hair offin and old mans backside,if we operated in our everyday lives the way our public officals did it would be utter confusion!!I gotta go take an asprin!!excuse MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

R.I.P. Mr. Pitney.

He wrote "Hello Mary Lou"? I sure did'nt know that. Not to change the subject, but I always loved James Burton's guitar solo in that one. I guess when you have a good song to start with, a good solo's not as hard to come up with(especially when you're James Burton).

Yeah Brian, that is a great one. Not to mention all those great Tele fills on Elvis' "Viva Las Vegas"! And he played one of the all time classic country leads on Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried". I have one of my dads old Merle albums, a Jimmie Rodgers double album tribute called "Same Train, A Different Time", that has James Burton and Roy Nichols playing real bluesy leads all over both records.

Gene's tour in the UK was really doing well, getting a tremendous amount of publicity. It's such a shame the press coverage today, is for such a sad reason.
