Re: Re: FRIST,S STOCK SALE UNDER FEDERAL SCRUTINY

Not sure. Is he a real Christian, or a Christian of the Insane Religious Right/Televangelist mode? Naw, just kidding.

Of course he cheated, but you folks have to understand. The good doctor (yes, we know you're a doctor, Bill, and we're really sick of hearing about it!) was just trying make a few extra bucks to donate to a very worthy and important charitable medical cause: "The Society to Stick Their Busy-Body Noses in Every Pregnant Woman's Uterus - Roe v. Wade Be D@mned, er, we mean Darned"! So ligthen up, and leave the crooked, cheating-@ssed, hypocritical religious-right bun hugging, about as Christ-like as a Nazi, surgeon/politician running his butt off for and it's my God-given right to become president, soon to jail-bird, alone!

Re: FRIST,S STOCK SALE UNDER FEDERAL SCRUTINY

Let's be fair; Frist's personal ownership was only an unknown portion of the $112 Mil. Other members of his family owned the rest! And he only sold to prevent "the hint of conflict of interest". And the stock was held in a blind trust.

OK...So how can a so-called blind trust be directed to sell any particular holding? Doesn't that contradict what a blind trust is and does? And where was "the hint of conflict of interest" in the years he had owned the stock as a Senator prior to its sale (and plummeting value)? It's sickening.

Is Halliburton in the Gulf region yet? Garry Trudeau, in Doonesbury, has Duke (my favorite mercenary), ready to pull out of Iraq and following the dust of Halliburton to the Gulf region to be where his "skill set is needed."

Re: Re: FRIST,S STOCK SALE UNDER FEDERAL SCRUTINY

Indeed it's sickening Scott, as is most that goes on in this corrupt administration. And of course Haliburton is in the Gulf already - their no bid contract was awarded on September 3, 2005 ( that the gov't was able to do quickly). On Sept. 5th, the Associated Press reported " Halliburton Co.'s Kellogg Brown & Root subsidiary has begun work on a $500 million U.S. Navy contract for emergency repairs at Gulf Coast naval and marine facilities that were damaged by Hurricane Katrina".

Here's some more info I found on the no-bid contracts :

Eighty percent of the $1.5 billion that's been let out in contracts for recovery efforts down in the Gulf has gone to no-bid contracts.

- $60 million has gone to a Halliburton subsidiary represented in the lobbying world by Joseph Allbaugh, the former FEMA director for President Bush

- $100 million has gone to Bechtel, which is still undergoing controversy for the runaway charges of the "Big Dig" project in Boston

- $568 million has gone to a group called Ashbritt down in Pompano Beach, Florida. That is represented by the firm formerly headed by Haley Barbour (Republican Governor or Mississippi)

In the meantime, the incompetent Michael Brown, in his last two weeks on taxpayer's payroll and in a completely partisan "investigation" has made amends with Mr. Bush by complaining that local Gov't in Louisiana is to blame for FEMA's anemic response to Katrina.

Makes you proud to be an American, doesn't it?

Re: Re: Re: FRIST,S STOCK SALE UNDER FEDERAL SCRUTINY

Amazing, Paul. Just amazing. Let's just hope that now that some of these holier-than-thou hypocrites are being investigated, people will begin to wake up a little bit.

Reading a Kaczor post is like having lunch with the monkeys -- sounds good at first, then it just bites.

Re: Re: FRIST,S STOCK SALE UNDER FEDERAL SCRUTINY

hhhmmmm..That seems a cheap shot. Kind of hit and run. What's the problem?

Re: Re: FRIST,S STOCK SALE UNDER FEDERAL SCRUTINY

Hmmm. Well, guess what - you don't have to read Paul's posts if you don't want. Personally, I love that he is a passionate and compassionate man who obviously deeply cares about the state of our nation and the effect it has on our fellow man. If Paul's comments are like having lunch with monkeys, bring on the bananas. Love you Paul!

Re: Re: Re: FRIST,S STOCK SALE UNDER FEDERAL SCRUTINY

Indeed, the real looting has just begun.
A read of the Sunday papers today leads me to conclude you have just the short list of those who will benefit unfairly from the twin hurricanes.

An administration which allows this kind of exploitation is at best incompetent; but more likely is simply corrupt. And those that take advantage of this system, even if their contracts are "legal", are criminal.
