Entering the winning numbers!

Hi,

I have a simple question. Why does the last draw date not update after I enter the newest numbers? Example, my last draw is still showing for 2/27/10, even though I entered the newest draws through 3/6/10.

Thank you,

William

Simple question and simple answer.

You update the last draw's date on your 'DATE' screen when you exit the game.

It's done that way for a simple reason: so you can test your strategy, your playing technique, in your game.

You can enter the game's actual winning numbers (to update the game's history), or you can enter some of your own numbers, to test your playing strategy.

You'd enter a "drawing date" only if you're updating the game's history with the actual winning numbers.

Here's more detail.

You can enter either kind of numbers:

... the game's actual winning numbers,

... any numbers of your own choosing.

- - -

Your own numbers:

When you enter your own numbers, you can play "What-If" strategies with your game.

... "What-If" this set of numbers was just drawn, or "What-If" this set of numbers gets drawn next?

... What will happen in my game? What trends will I see? Pairs, Triples? Win Patterns? (etc)

In other software (not LD), those programs force you to select a date, or enter a date, before you can enter a set of numbers.

In LD, you can freely enter any numbers you want, to test them.

The LD software shows you what happens in your game if those numbers become winning numbers.

... But you're entering your own numbers for testing.

... You wouldn't want to update the game's actual history with those numbers -- because they aren't the game's real winning numbers.

The software only updates the actual game history when you exit the game, on your DATE screen.

That's where you decide whether to keep (or discard) your entries.

If you keep your entries, then that DATE screen is where you'll enter the date of the last drawing.

... That's what you'd do if you're simply updating your game. The software keeps your entries, and updates the game history.

If you decide not to keep them, then just exit from your DATE screen.

... That's what you'd do if you're testing your own numbers. The software discards your entries when you exit. The game's actual history remains untouched.

Good question all the way -- feel free to ask more.
