Powerball is played in these States:

Either way, you'll have the new Powerball game.  It will ready to use, immediately.

Re: New Powerball Game -- This Week

Hi Jayne,

The Game History file update was posted a few minutes aga.  It's ready for downloading now.

This update has all the draws from the old Powerball game.  Next week's update will be the one with the new game.

In the LD software, Powerball will still use the same game code:  USPB.

If you download now, you'll have the old game.  If you download next week, you'll have the new game (with the coming week's draws in it).

Re: New Powerball Game -- This Week

ok I created my own game, but when I go into the organizer/calendar.. under edit draw dates, of course it has 'n''s under every day of the week...so I changed the 'n' to 'y' under wednesday and saturday...and clicked 'ok'...but then it asks dates are valid since Draw number (1 to 0)..I try to put in a '1' and nothing happens...I tried to put in a '0' and it won't take that either...what am I supposed to put in here..it says enter the oldest lottery draw at which these days started...it won't let me put anything in ...what do I do here...isn't the first draw of this new game a '1'?...

Re: New Powerball Game -- This Week

Hi Jayne,

Wait until after you enter the first draw's numbers, and then you can set it up.

After you enter the first draw on Wednesday, it will take the draw schedule.  It would start at draw 1 (of course).

The draw schedule will be Wednesday and Saturday, the same as in the old game.

If any questions, we'll be happy to help.

The new Powerball 5/55 + 1/42 game is now in the "Game History" file, on your Downloads page.

Download the file and run it, and it will update all of your games including the new Powerball.

Re: New Powerball Game -- This Week

The new Powerball 5/55 + 1/42 is posted in the "Game History" file.

Example:  If you click on "USA Game Reports" on the home page, you can see the first draw for the new Powerball.  That report comes from the new game in the "Game History" file.

Maybe your Web browser was "caching" (storing) the old game file and didn't replace it with the new one.

Anyway, download the file again.  After downloading, be sure to run it.  That will update all of the games.

LD Newbie

I just downloaded the LD software and purchased the registration code. My question is this. I would like to wheel a total of 20 numbers out of 35 in a bonus ball design (Tx Two Step - "Pick 4" + BB). I would also like to have the ability to choose which 20 numbers to wheel. Does your program allow the full 20 numbers to be wheeled with a mix of numbers from the choices thrown in as the bonus ball? Meaning - Will your program allow 10 or 15 of the numbers I choose to be used as both the "main" 4 numbers as well as a possible selection for the BB within the combinations?

Re: New Powerball Game -- This Week

HI,

Do I have to delete the old 5/53 USPB file inorder to pick up the new 5/55 file. I tried that and I am still getting the 5/53 file. I have downloaded the files three times. Could I be picking up a file that is on your sided incorrectly.

Thanks

Buddy

Hi,

When I look at the report for Powerball, I see a 5/53 report from 08/27/05 not 5/55.

Re: New Powerball Game -- This Week

Hi Shawn,

First you wheel your numbers for the 4-number part, and then select one number for the 1-number part.

If you want to use multiple numbers for the 1-number part, just run the wheel again for each number (one at a time).

- - -

Example:

Suppose you want to wheel 20 regular numbers plus 3 bonus numbers.

You would select a wheel and wheel your 20 numbers.  The software will then ask you to choose one number for the bonus.  It will be added to each combination (at the end of each line).

Then, repeat the process and now add the second bonus number.  Do it again and add the third bonus.

- - -

The reason is this:

There are many different ways you could "mix" the three bonus numbers into the combinations.  The software does not allow random mixing.  (There are no random operations in the software.)

So, you might want to mix your three bonus numbers differently from the way another player might want to do them.

In a typical case, if you had 30 combinations, you would have to step through them one at a time, choosing which bonus number to put into each one.  That would be very tedious and time-consuming.  That's why the software does not do it like that.

Instead, just re-run the wheel and choose another bonus number for it.

It's a very fast process, because much of it is automatic.  You can run the wheel again automatically with only a few mouse clicks.  Add a new bonus number, and the job is done.

It would only take a few seconds each time.

Re: New Powerball Game -- This Week

Hi Buddy,

After you downloaded the Game History file, did you run it?

There are two parts to updating the games:

   (1) Download the Game History file (LDGAMES.EXE).  You can put it on your Windows desktop.

   (2) After the download is completed, you should see the "LDGAMES" icon on your desktop.  Double-click on it to run it.

That will update all of the games.

- - -

Let us know if you see the "LDGAMES" icon on your Windows desktop.  We can take it from there.

Re: New Powerball Game -- This Week

Hi Shawn,

Just a follow-up to the wheeling.

Your Registration was sent to you this morning.  You should see it in your E-mail box.

When you're ready to wheel some numbers, we'll be happy to show how to do it.  We can take it step-by-step.

- - -

It would be a good idea to start a new topic on the wheeling, outside this "Powerball" topic.

Re: New Powerball Game -- This Week

Thank you CDEX.

I really appreciate your quick response. I will play around some more and see what I can come up with.

I will be back with more questions, I just know it...

Re: New Powerball Game -- This Week

Hi Shawn,

It's pretty easy.  The same principles apply to the Powerball and the Texas Two-Step for wheeling.

Here are the basic steps.

(1) Start the software, select "Lotteries", and then select "Lotto Lottery".

(2) After the Welcome screen, select your game.

(3) You'll be at your Main screen.  (It's labeled at the top left corner.)

(4) At your Main screen, select "Pick".  You'll go to your Pick menu.

(5) At your Pick menu, select "Wheeling Systems".

(6) You'll see a list of wheels.  You can scroll through them, and you can sort them by clicking on the top of any column.  For example, you can sort them by their amounts of numbers, prizes, costs, and so on.

(7) Select any wheel.  To do this, click "Select" and enter the wheel number.

(8) Now you'll see your "Numbers to Wheel" screen.  This is where you choose the numbers you want to wheel.

(9) You can wheel numbers automatically, by entering an amount into the "brackets" [  ] at the left of any lines of numbers.  The numbers will be wheeled automatically for you.

... For example, you can enter the number "5" into the "Rarity" row, like this:   [ 5 ].  When you do this, five numbers will be wheeled from that row.

... You can do this with any rows of numbers -- as many as you like.

... Or, you can drop down to the "Custom" line and wheel any numbers you like, manually.  Just enter them into the "Custom" line.

... And, you can combine the Automatic and Manual wheeling.  Just enter the amounts of numbers you want, into the "brackets" [  ] at the left of each line.

... When you're done, confirm your entries by clicking "Yes" at the bottom of your screen.

(10) If you chose two or more types of numbers (like "Rarity" and "Frequency", then you'll see a "Wheeling Priority" screen.  You can choose which numbers to wheel first, second, and so on.  Or, you can just press Enter to continue.  If you chose only one type of number (like "Rarity"), then this screen will not appear.

(11) Now you'll see the screen for wheeling the "bonus" number.  In Lottery Director, it's called the "Set 2" number.  (That's because it comes from the game's second machine.)

- - -

The rest is just filtering and saving your combinations.

Note that you can re-filter your combinations as many times as you like, without having to repeat any of the steps above.

For example, you might want to wheel some numbers and try different filtering on them.  You can "tweak" your combinations to meet your playing budget, while keeping the kinds of combinations you want to play.

- - -

Note:

All of the above is covered in your "Lotto User's Guide" book.  It explains how wheeling works, takes you step-by-step through wheeling, and shows examples.

You can download the guidebooks from this Web site.  They're a free download, and you can view/print them in the free reader.

If any questions, feel free to post them here.  We will be happy to assist.
