Lottery Director & xp

Hi once again,
I have downloaded the latest version of LD & it still refuses to install in xp. I have 2 laptops with xp. On one it just says "too many parameters".
On the other it says
"16 bit MS-Dos subsystem
WindowsSystem 32Autoexec NT
The file system is not suitable for running MS-DOS & Windows application."
and then the window disappears.
I have tried to run it under Windows 98 using the properties button, but because the software is not installed on the hard drive, but is still in zip form, that doesn't work.
Do you have any ideas.
Thank you for your prompt reply to my previous question.

Re: Lottery Director & xp

Hi Ann,

That is a fairly well known problem in Windows XP.

It is documented at the Microsoft Windows XP Support site.  It is usually caused by one of these three Windows files being missing or damaged:

   Config.nt
   Autoexec.nt
   Command.com

There are several ways to fix it.

(You can copy and paste the URLs below into your browser.)

(1)  Read the Microsoft Support article at:

   http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B324767&Product=winxp

(2)  Also read the Support Forum at:

   http://forums.techguy.org/t311457.html

(3)  You could also run the "XP_Fix" program:

   Visual Tour Tech Support Downloads

   http://www.visualtour.com/downloads/

Look about halfway down the page, for the program:  "XP_Fix.exe"

It happened with Microsoft's release of XP Service Pack 2.  We hope it will be corrected with the next XP release.
