MidLife and Dreams
Why are dreams important? At mid-life {35-55} there is the natural tendency to reflect on the past and with that a need to reconcile those past experiences that remain unresolved. Often such experiences are vague, repressed, forgotten or simply ignored. That is the case conscious wise. Unconsciously they remain within the psyche until they are acknowledged and put into proper perspective or resolved. Dreams are one way to access these conscious/unconscious experiences, but without the bias of the waking ego which can distort if not repress those experiences. Carl Jung {one time student and protege to Sigmund Freud} has provided the tools needed to understand dreams. And as difficult as it may seem to understand dreams, much of what is required is intuitive, ready for the waking mind to tap into the unconscious world. Another way to state it is it requires a bit of common sense. By giving a little time to investigating the language of dreams, almost anyone can understand their dreams and use them to improve their mental and physical health. One thing that science has realized is 'dreams are therapeutic'. All you need to know about dream psychology, and it is the psychology that make up our dreams, can be found here at the
Myths-Dreams-Symbols website.
