remembering drreams

Is there a way to increase the remembering of your dreams
I usually don't rremember tehm--have a few in the past--I did have a not great childhood and I know that that can help in the keeping of dreams being surpressed
I realize the importance of dreams and would like to increase the memories

Re: remembering drreams

hi,
firstly i feel that if your unconscious wants you to remember a dream on waking ,you will, most dreams seem to do there job without you having to remember them,
most repressed memories if ignored via dreams, get more powerful ,in some cases becoming nightmares to get your conscious attention,so i wouldn't worry to much about lack of recall,
you could try opening up dialogue with your dreams,
try telling yourself as you start to fall to sleep, that you will remember more detail from your dreams,
this is a simple method,a sort of self suggestion,
let us know how you get on,and good luck,
regards steve

Re: remembering drreams

I've just became familiarized with thie site (really like it!)...and read this post and tried this self-suggestion before falling sleep. Well, it works wonderful for me! Not only I seem to rememebr more details, but the number of them is incredible (like a non-stop 8 hours of hard work). I do wake up at night..and yet I find the transition from dreaming, to slithly awake, back to sleeping very smooth. Anyway, it's been only a couple of nights, so doesn't have statistical significance, but...again, statered to work for me after I read this and tried it at home. Thanks a lot! Juan
