Dream Commonality?

When I read dream posts on this site, and when I have read books detailing other women’s dreams (not always the main subject of the book), I am amazed at how similar some dream themes are and how they can reflect similar real life situations: life transitions, denial of a painful past, identity(outer masks) questions, etc. I have posted my own recurring dreams, and most of the time, I am not looking for an interpretation as much as I am trying to get a feeling of commonality. In a weird way, I would almost prefer no interpretation, but I would rather hear from others who have had similar dreams and hear what their perception is as to why or what they may have been going through that brought on those dreams. The desire to hear similar experiences and dreams (the reason for dream sharing) can make one feel normal as though “this too shall pass.” And, the feeling that others have made it on the other side of these “issues” and concerns can be consoling. Reading and hearing similarities of life events and dreams sometimes can feel more helpful to me than a perfect interpretation full of good insights and intuition. Wondering if others feel the same?
