Re: Trail Conditions & updates

We spent the day up at Knob Pond and rode the trails between Knob and Eagle Lake. The trail conditions were good and we talked with some riders that rode the Bear Pond trail and they said the trails were good there also. Stoney Lonesome was good with a few loose stones here and there but still ok to ride. The only thing of interest was getting around a gate on the trail to Eagle Lake from the 770 club, usually it is open all winter?? Anyway you have to go across a stonewall which probabely wont be so bad after we get some more snow! Also Eagle Lake was quite "Slippery" so use caution until we get more snow.

Re: Trail Conditions & updates

As of the 16th The Knob Pond trail from the front gate to the camp is open thanx to John Russell & Dave Hood. I'm not sure about the trail to the back gate but as of friday nite it was not open yet. There is alot of blowing & drifting snow.
I think we can stop praying for snow now, I can live with 20 " for awhile!

Re: Trail Conditions & updates

All NWCTB trails have been groomed and are in good to excellent condition. Note there have been some trail relocations that are not shown on the maps that are currently available from the State (last years). However, the trails are clearly marked and the maps at the intersections have been modified. Ride at your own risk and use caution on the lakes. The north end of Lake George is not considered safe. Lake Champlain from Whitehall to Ticonderoga is currently being used with some slush/wet spots reported. Food and fuel is available in Ticonderoga, Whitehall and via the VAST trail head to Benson, VT located directly across the lake from Putnam Station/Old Putnam House. VAST regulations allow travel to Benson (about 3 miles) for food/fuel with a valid NY registration.
BE SAFE!!
