+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+

My old mob at the GS Europa are holding their annual crimbo ride/lunch/drink/darts contest etc. this coming sunday. (its about the only event they still promote)

The itinery is thus:

10:00 Meet West End church
10:15 potter round the lanes
12:00 Arrive Cricketers (Curdridge nr Botley)
food/lager/etc
Nightfall: Ride home in the dark under the influence.
(One year this event was held in Lyndhurst, and i still dont remember how i got home) !

I shall be leaving home at around 08:45 if anyone wants a tow. Failing that you are all more than welcome to divert the club run via curdridge on the way home and drop in for a cheeky half. (Dave Harding and Glen Longland are the special guests)

More info is available on the GS Europa beano hotline on 0776 456 2296 !

Is that what a Euro cyclist would do?

Graham

Thanks for the invite, but please pass on my apologies. Apparently Jane, my good lady wife, says I'm not allowed out if Derek Witt is taking me drinking, as he's a bad influence upon me?? Please wish him and Jan a Merry Xmas for me.

A word of caution to anybody brave enough to accompany Graham. Having seen the after effects first hand I can confirm GS Europa are absolute hard-core. Truly dedicated cyclists with an ability to drink their own weight in beer and still remain upright on 2 wheels???

Re: +LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+

Graham, sounds like a plan, unfortunatly my wife will be dropping me out of the car around swindon area on sunday morning about 9.30, then I will ride the rest of the way up to hereford, lets hope the wind is not coming from the north east!

I will however be having a few beers on monday night, so I will toast your hardcore event and hope that you all made it home safe and sound.

Re: +LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+

I have planned a route that would be 51 miles to curdridge.. ie 3 and a bit hours....so leaving @ nine thirty should pass there around 1230 ish...

Re: Re: +LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+

I was actually thinking of meeting at PBH as per usual and heading out with the rest of you.

Need to get to curdridge for 12 though, so with a few tweaks Craig, im sure you can manage that for me !!!!

Otherwise my dinner will get cold !

Its a recovery week for me so i only need 2-2.5 hours anyway.

Right where did i put my lights !!!!!

Re: +LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+

I have adjusted the route to a shorter 41 miles to swing through curdridge.

At 16.5 Mph that makes it 2.5 hours.. nice run out to little switzerland, and a loop back through monkwood> tistead> wheely down> curdridge>

looks like if we are behind time you will have to go on the front and earn your gala luncheon..

Re: +LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+LAGER+

Hi John

We all got around the course safely and it was a good route. Some icy patches but with care we all got through and no punctures.

We also popped into the pub to speak to Graham and say "Hello" to GS Europa. This was at 12.37, but Graham was not there. GS Europa were just about to start dinner by the looks of it.
