Sorry to butt in on your forum guys, but the Sustrans Connect2 project needs YOUR help. Connect2 is all about connecting 79 communities across the UK with cycle paths. Connect2 is hoping to gain £50Million from the National Lottery, but is in competition with 3 other projects for the money. More info can be found at www.thepeoples50million.org.uk. All it will take is a few minutes to vote! Just a couple of issues though to help - voting is a bit of an odd system, using a 2 stage process. First you need to register. You can do this at: http://www.thepeoples50million.org.uk/forum/people.php?PostBackAction=ApplyForm You then need to vote at: http://www.thepeoples50million.org.uk/vote Also I think they've under-estimated the popularity of the vote, so their servers are not working very well and it may take a few attempts to register! Once registered the voting seems to be OK, although it's not really clear when you have voted - just a subtle change in the web page. Also remember that if you have more than one email address, you can vote more than once (just use a different name!) Of the 79 projects this will help fund the local ones include a new cycle bridge in Shoreham and a riverside path next to the Itchen, Hastings and Bexhill Coastal connection and a crossing of the A35 in the New Forest. This project will only win if we get lots of support from the people who cycle, that's you guys!! Cheers Tim |
