Today's Ride

Hi All

Did everyone enjoy today's ride?

I did apart from the last half hour when Nikki punctured. My hands were freezing and in pain. So glad to get home and dry out plus to warm my hands up.

I thought the ride was a good one. Nice and steady and with no hills. Good to see other cyclists out too i.e. the Southdown Velo club run and Toby, Jackie and John.

See you next Sunday and we are heading Mr Hyde's way.

PS John, it is next week your out and about on the ride?

Re: Today's Ride

I enjoyed it... after we split in Rowlands Castle I dropped down to Finchedean> Buriton.... then that back road to East Meon... Lovely tail wind

However.. just to make it interesting I decided to turn left and head up the back of Butser. By now the road was awash.. huge dirty puddles with white horses and foam in places... the climb was fairly sheltered but the top straight was exposed to the full hooley. stinging rain and a lethal crosswind meant that I stayed in the 25 until the road started rolling back into Clanfield.. in all 60 miles in four hours wasnt too bad for the conditions.. though I did tear a hole in a brand new tyre when I hit a large flint....
Beligian toothpaste anyone?

MAD! I say.....While you were all out in the pouring rain I sat in the nice and warm....after doing 2 hours on the turbo the night before, and thinking thank god this was my weekend off.

Anyway yes, next sunday I will be out, and coming back over my way via a few long hills ;-)

Thoroughly enjoyed my 2 hour ride, especially the bit were I peel off to come home early. Didn't get to wet, but the manflu has got worse so have been off the bike since Sunday.

I won't be out this Sunday as its Janes birthday so staying in to due the dutiful husband thing, but should be out the Sunday after.
