No harm, no foul. I think that one of the reasons that this has gotten blown out of proportion is that there seems to be some instigating going on. Honestly, I think that everyone needs to take a step back cool off and NOT POST anything for a while.

Being the new guy is tough, coming in from "outside" and cleaning house really gets you noticed. We had worked long and hard to get our "program" to the point it is. We thought that we were doing pretty good. I think that we just didn't know how high the bar was.

Our Sportsman class is really, really new. For the most part, all of our engines were unboxed, the govenor removed, throttle linkage, clutch and chain guard was installed and went racing.

What I'm getting (second hand information) is that you've spent some time working on the engine and perfecting you're set up. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Our rules are really quite simple and rely more on spirit and intent rather on precise technical specifications. We acknowledged that the rules would be "bent" to allow participation in the class and grow the numbers. So, in that light I think claims of "cheating" were and are misrepresented. The one common denominator is that one person seems to have all the facts as they see them and it may not be quite right.

Class rules are "Box Stock" that means just what it says. There is a claimer rule and right now the price escapes me, but the intent was to make it unappealing to the competitors to spend big bucks on blueprinting, special cams and speed parts. If you want that, move up to the other classes.

The class is designed to give guys with an itch to race an outlet. They can buy an engine and clutch for about $250.00 find an older chassis and go racing on the cheap.

Ask yourself this question: Did anyone at the track come directly to you and questions you about your engine? Were you hearing this second hand from someone else?

We'd love to have you guys from Barnesville come back. I sincerely hope you had a good time and I'm sorry that you got caught up in this whole unsavory business. Best thing to avoid situations like this, is communication.
