Anybody running a Holley 390....?
I know that the Holley 390 on a Clifford or Offy intake is a fairly common set-up....My shop is about to tackle the linkage and seems to be having a tough time. I bought the "universal" linkage kit that is recommended for use with the Offy intake, and it still seems to have him confounded. Can anybody offer some words of wisdom or helpful tips that might make this go a little faster for me? Pat |

What linkage are you having trouble with? The throttle or the automatic transmission linkage? Or both? I didn't buy any universal kit to get my "kick-down" linkage for the automatic transmission to work on my Clifford intake, but fabricated my own. I did buy a bag of throttle linkage parts at the local auto parts store before rigging up my throttle to the Holley 4 barrel that is installed there. That was easy for the most part. The linkage to the automatic transmission will take some work if you don't have a universal linkage that are available. If it helps, here are some pictures of my set up: http://www.upmpg.com/projects/amc_gremlin/engine_drivetrain_030.htm Just scroll through the pictures to get different views. Hope this helps.

Pat;I got trans linkage for the kick down from a jeep parts supplier, I think in Georgia, He is listed in the back of the NAMDRA publication. Trans is critcal to get right or other wise you burn it up.

i used a throotle cable from a 74 cherokee with 258, (new from napa). Its longer than the sock gremlin cable but swaps exact into place and is perfect length. i got my kick down cable from these guys, its kinda spendy but works awsome. http://www.bouchillonperformance.com/BPEtkdc.asp |
