Couple Questions about V8 swap

I found these on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Gremlin-Hornet-American-V8-swap-mounts-crossmember-401_W0QQitemZ310046056800QQcmdZViewItem

Does anyone have any experience with them? Do they hold up? Im looking to put a 360 in my gremlin and if this saves me from trying to source a v8 crossmember that would be great.

Another quick one...what donor cars have the v8 crossmember that I need for the gremlin?

Thanks guys!!!

Re: Couple Questions about V8 swap

I used these for the 304 swap into my 72. Did the swap last September and so far i have had no problems. As a note they have no bushings like most mounts i've delt with so you will likely feel more vibes. I have a mild cam in mine though and i don't feel anything that bothers me.

Re: Couple Questions about V8 swap

I have a question about these, do they do away with the stock engine mounts normally used with the V8? Seems no harder for someone to fabricate than what is done often installing a SBC in a Gremlin, or anything else for that matter. Maybe I'm missing something.

Re: Couple Questions about V8 swap

You can use your 6 cylinder crossmember for a V-8 if you purchase the V-8 adaptor mounts from Bulltear.

The V-8 memeber is a bit stronger than a 6, but the main difference is the way the motor mounts attach to the member itself - the bolt holes are reversed. Buying one of these is a good idea.

You will need a set of V-8 motor mount brackets that are specific to Gremlin and Hornet. There are a set currently for sale on ebay. Ones for a Javelin or other AMC cars will not work.

This is why people have used the adaptors from Bulltear. One price and a little work kills two birds with one stone.

If you do swap the member you will need to remove the strut rods to do so. Buy new bushings if you do this.

Personally - I made the complete swap.
