chevy to L6 crossmember
Hi all, I have a granny-fresh 4 door Hornet sedan with a dead 232.. I also have a sweet running 350/700R4 combo waiting to go in something nice and light and completely unassuming looking... I'm looking for info on swapping the chevy into the Hornet body. I found an AMC 12 bolt with 3.54 posi and installed it, no sweat. I'd like to do this swap as I'm not a rich man and already have the pieces to do the swap. I was thinking along the lines of fabricating plates with tabs to mount the rubber-on-block mounts to. (These will look similar to the Hooker style mounts you can get to put the 350 in an S10 truck.) Any tips and pictures you may have would be great! drop me a line at judderman65athotmaildotcom Thanks! Mike

Actually it is not that difficult.. but if you want to set the engine back in the bay you will need custom headers and rerouting of the steering shaft.. the mounts are the easy part.. lol. |
