Factory sun roof

Any one have a factory sun roof on there Gremlin. My new Gremlin project has the factory fabric sun roof but is in need of repair. Material needs to be replaced and a new latch handle. Has anyone had theirs recovered? Or maybe Ill put in a smoked plexiglass in its place

Re: Factory sun roof

I don't have any experience with these, but at this forum that has come up before and someone posted a link to a site that has replacement pieces for this sort of sunroof in a universal kit. Maybe someone has the link or a phone number or you can check previous posts here at the forum in case the thread still exists.

Re: Factory sun roof

i read in a magazine some one used Voltswagon sun roof parts on their fullsize buick to get the same cloth stuff. If it worked for a fullsize buick it would have to work for a gremlin. Hope this at least gives you an option for a worst case cenario. And yeah i probly spelled that wrong.

Re: Factory sun roof

Try this place below... and just do some google searches. You should be able to find stuff. Really hard to find the original parts. The company went out of business. Tops came from England. I have one that has most of the parts. The handle you won't find but you can have someone make one easy enough. All of the handles I have seen are broken. I'm going to see if a guy can make one.

Has anyone seen a Hornet of Hornet Sportabout with the "fun in the sunroof"? Just wondering. All I have ever seen are Gremlins.
