Bumper Change out

I am stripping a 1980 Spirit/Gremlin Cam Back. The bumpers on my 74 Gremlin were chrome and in bad condition. The chrome 74 bumpers and heavy and the Spirit bumper are aluminium and light. I tried changing them and it's a perfect fit. They fit in closer to the body instead of sticking out as far.

The look is nice plus they won't rust, I feel any bumpers off Spirits, Concords or Eagles will fit the early Gremlins 73 to 76. The 78 and 79 Gremlins may already have the aulminium bumpers but the bumper shockes on the 74 seem to be shorter and fit closer to the body.

I'm heading for Daytona Beach this week end for a car show of car clubs and AMC has it's own show area. Over 100 registered hope to see some of you there. My Gremlin is Candy Apple red and has "Gremlin X" on the back window and "The Misfit" under it stop and say hello.
