TV Gremlins
I just saw a comercial for EMBREL. And saw a Yellow gremlin on there. only saw it for a second as my brother pointed it out to me as i was reading my AMC manual. Didnt know if anyone else has seen TV Gremlins. |

Ive heard about that ad, I keep missing it.Im wondering if it's the same Gremlin that got rearended by the buick on the old kodak commercial.There was also a Kia commercial with a yellow Gremlin a few years back, and not too long ago a derogatory commercial where the "cool" people drove Mustangs and the "nerds" that couldn't get the girls were delivering pizzas in Gremlins (I think it was advertising a "win a mustang" event). I wasn't convinced. I still think the Gremlins in the commercial were cooler. There was also a Gremlin used in the video for a song called "she Likes Me For Me", back in the late-90's. I forgot the groups name. |

During 2004 McDonald's had a Gremlin in one fo their commercials. In this one, the Gremlin was made out to be a cool car to have, until the end of the commercial, where steam started coming up from the radiator while in the drive-thru, and the car had to be pushed :-( Freddie |

Just saw another grem. Turned on the TV and just so happened to catch a music video by Weezer, i think its called Beverly HIlls? well any ways,there was a red 74-75 gremlin. Nice car! Tim Iowa |

In one of the Crocodile Dundee movies there is a scene of the downtown core and they are walking at night and there is a Gremlin parked on the side of the street. |

Theres one in "Home Alone 2". Someone mentioned to me last week they saw one in a vacation scene. Theres also a movie called "wild Things".Theres a brief scene where Bill Murray, playing a lawyer, drives a yellow '77-78, before winning a case and replacing it with a Ferrari. |

i have a dunkin doughnuts tv ad, plus a firestone one, there is a nice 70 or 71 gremlin in the movie brewster mc cloud. it"s a early 70"s movie and also in munchies. there are others too. i collect them if anybody has any on video or dvd that i don"t have let me know i will buy them. thanks joe jsgremlin@yahoo.com joe smith, p.o. box 743, otisville, new york, 10963

What about the Green 73' in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, the guy that scalps all the concert tix; he drives it to school and up to Jenifer Jason Leighs house. the car gets a good amout of screen time. Marc

I like watching "COPS" largely because theres frequently a lot of interesting old cars in the backgrounds (especially the early episodes). I remember one old episode from Florida where there was gang activity at the side of the road and the officer was intervening. There was a Gremlin X parked on the grass, clearly visible.There was also an episode from colorado, filmed at night. In the background, there was a Gremlin at a gas pump, and then you could see it driving away. |

I just got done watching Fast Times at Ridgemont High and theres another Gremlin besides the green one its a brown one and its in the scean when the Spicoli's pull up to the school for the dance and it gets some screen time since they park next to and walk by it. |

too bad in the weezer video they show the gremlin when the lyrics are saying "my automobile is a piece of crap." Gremlins are in the Simpsons all the time. Hans Moleman drives a green one and so does the Comic book Guy. |

saw a couple years ago a rap video, with eminem called purple hills or pills or something, they are driving i think its a purple or blue gremlin and it shows some interior shots if im correct and it has some pretty good screen time. it was a couple years ago so i dont really remember...maybe someone can check it out, ill look into it as well Also in one of the Crocodile Dundee movies they are walking thorough the city and there is one parked on the side of the street, you dont see it for very long and its at night so you have to look hard |

In "Beverly Hills cop",during the opening, Eddie Murphy is riding in a truck as it slams into countless cars. Right before it crashes for the final time,you can very briefly see a '77-78 Gremlin parked at the side of the road.I dont think it was one of the cars that got hit.You have to look real quickly to catch it. Also, my brother told me he saw an old movie where there was a broken down gremlin, I think at the beginning. It was an obscure movie, and I think it was about robots....something sci-fi. He cant remember the name now. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I think he also said the car was in a desert..not sure. |

Theres one in the movie the Haunting. It gets good time. That car was a airline give away car. Its had a special paint scheme and interior. They repainted it for the movie and it didnt show the interior. Theres a fellow on the amcforums.com that sold it to the production company and talks about it alot. |

Last night, my girlfriend thought she saw one at the beginning of a commercial. It aired during "desperate Housewives" and I think it was for a life insurance company. She said it was red with a white stripe (probably the same one from the weezer video). the theme of the commercial was fun-loving, carefree kids of the 60s and 70s growing into responsible adults and buying insurance. Has anyone seen this commercial? If so, is there indeed a Gremlin at the beginning? |

On Monster Garage, they had an all women team. One of the woman races dirt track and races a gremlin or at she did as well as a few other cars, they only showed it for a few seconds. Anyways they were building a dirt track racer out of camaro. |

I just saw a lime green Gremlin in a Home Depot commercial today while I was watching the ESPN News channel.The commercial started out with one of Santas Elves driving up to a womens house to deliver her a letter from Santa the Gremlin is only in the ad for about 15 to 20 seconds but its very cool hopefully they will use it in some more commercials.Im hoping they have the Elf deliver some gifts in it that would be cool

I also just saw it over the weekend. The name of the movie is Impulse. It (the G.) gets some good air time 26 to 27 minutes into the film then later about 77 minutes into the movie through the kitchen window of Jeff Fahey's place. |

The most recent Kermit the Frog movie has a gremlin throughout it. movie setting is young muppets leaving the swamp. Bad Boys 1, has a gremlin getting smashed in one of the chase seens sadly. Marge Simpson has a gremlin as her first car. The Movie 29 Palms, has a Gremlin in it as well, Rachel Leigh Cook acts like hers is brokedown to sucker someone. |

Another movie "WISDOM" made in 1988 starring Emilio Esteves, Demi Moore and Tom Skerritt - 35 minutes into the movie Emilio is borrowing his Mom's car and as he drives out of the driveway there is a "G" setting in the neighbors driveway. Wisdom is Emilio's last name in the movie. May be more shots in the movie of "G"s I don't know as I did not watch the movie from beginning to end. Ever since I read the first post on here about the Gs on TV I am watching for the Gremlins.

I just got done watching 29 Palms the Gremlin got some good screen time all it really needed was a new paint job.There was a red Pacer as well so you get 2 AMC cars in the same movie and the Pacer looked mint and gets good screen time.The movie was a little weird but the cars and Rachel Leigh Cook make it worth watching.

Theres an early episode of "Dukes Of Hazzard" (it's on the "complete First season" dvd set) entitled "daisy's Song". Not far into the show, theres a scene in a parking lot, and as the camera moves from one area to another, theres a quick glimpse of a white and black Gremlin x in a parking spot. A little bit later, Theres another parking lot scene, and a yellow Gremlin is visible (as an added AMC bonus, that scene also contains a pacer wagon). |

Can't believe nobody mentioned the TV show "Ed" about the bowling lawyer that recently ran for three seasons. One episode was primarilly about Ed's girlfriend not wanting to the car she's owned since highschool - a Gremlin I recall. The car was portrayed as decidedly uncool. I'm sure Ford paid for product placement on the show because she ended up buying a new Mercury Cougar, and everyone else drove some kind of Ford product. She finally decided to sell her Gremlin when it either: 1) rolled into a lake, 2) broke down, 3) or got into an accident (scary, but I actually can't remember which it was - only that we never saw the car again). |

Just saw the Enforcer (Dirty Harry) movie where they kidnap the SF Mayor and hold him hostage on Alkatrez. About 30 inutes left in the movie there is a Gremlin driving down the street - it appears to be a 1972 Green X, but it is moving across the screen.

Just saw another commercial. I dont remember what for something family insurance. but they were talking about the generation that made it through the seventies and now they are retiring. it shows a side view of the gremlin but only for a split second. at first i wasnt sure if i had seen it, but its there. |

I saw a commercial for the movie "Radio" Its about a mentally challenged black kid who becomes the high schools team helper. Anyways i think i saw a gremlin sitting behind the coach when he is talking to an older lady. i havent seen the movie but will be sure to check it out next chance i get and confirm this one. |

I think I saw what became of the "crocodile Dundee" gremlin. There was a movie called "Barb Wire" that was pretty bad, but nothing else was on (I don't have cable) so I had it on in the background. Caught what appeared to be a white gremlin toppled over on fire WAY in back--far enough in the distance to not be completely sure but it looked like a gremlin. It's not really worth renting the movie just to see it, though, in my opinion. |

I saw another one on "cops" yesterday. It was from San Diego county (someplace I wouldnt mind being right now). They were pulling over an equally distinctive Datsun B210 with the slanted, almost fastback rear end (gremlins competition in its time). Toward the beginning of the segment, in the background, a Grem was zipping along, pulling into a gas station. You had to watch really quickly bt it was there. |

Ive seen a picture of that in a book somewhere! I think its whats known as "carhenge" and is a tourist attraction. I think I saw it in a tour book for the US. |

I've seen a cartoon version of a Gremlin passing the school bus on "The Simpsons" and in the Movie "Rocky II" (1979). Right after Adrian comes out of her coma, Rocky is jogging down the street and passes a parked 1972 Gremlin twice (I think it was the same Gremlin). |

I know the movie "Gremlins" was already mentioned. It was especially significant in that when the man who keeps saying that the "foreign crap" has Gremlins in it causing them not to work properly. Then it was a VW Beetle that wouldn't start! I'm sure glad they picked the Beetle to be a mechanical "gremlin" instead of the Gremlin. A lot of people keep telling me about seeing Gremlins in movies, then later when I do see the movie it turns out to be a Pacer. That is starting to really **** me off! I rented Wayne's World because I was told they drove a Gremlin. Why can't people keep those two cars straight?

I just saw that show (heroes) and the Gremlin got good screen time. Black 74-75, possibly newer spray-paint job, looked kinda dented but not too bad. I'm really hoping it doesnt get destroyed in any future episodes. She ended up with a vintage caddy so the Gremlin may not be on for awhile. |

earlier on I wrote a posting about a Gremlin broken down at the beginning of an old movie. Just found it its called "innerspace". Its a brown 70-73 sitting at the side of a highway. |

My mom was watching the 2nd season of The O.C and when the blonde haired guy and a girl were walking down a street you can see a 74 or 75 Gremlin thats tan with blue stripes!!!! |

movie on cable one of the movie channels "camp nowhere" has a yellow 1974 gremlin all throughout the movie its one of those goofy teen movies about a bunch of young kids that trick their parents into sending them off to a camp that doesnt really exist.......k the star of the movie is the guy that played the mad professor in the movie back to the future.. he owns the gremlin and drives it alot in the movie |

I just seen, about 2 weeks ago, an AARP commerical that had a blue 74' Gremlin X that looked very original! The car had lots of screen time! Real sharp car. Has anyone seen this? I was in Arkansas when I seen it. Now that I am back in Florida, I have not seen it. -Brad |

here is one I noticed that everybody has missed and I dont see how, In the movie "super mario brothers" where they ended up in the dinosaur dimension, there is a blue gremlin and white pacer that always seem to pop up every where, it has the weird sparkler engine and wierd accesories but they cannot be missed in the movie. good spotting on dukes of hazzard, for those of you that dont know the show, its season one, episode two. its one the episodes that was shot in covington, GA before it moved to california, to "mash" mountians because if you watch the show it shows the same mountains from the show mash. only the first 5 episoded were shot in covington. also the gremlin that showd up in "radio" which was susposed to belong to his mother, I purchased a pacer wagon from the guy that supplied the gremlin to the movie. |

I just saw an episode of married with children were Al decides to get rid of his "Dodge" duster & buy a new mustang convertable.Peg ended up stealing his money he had hidden in a shoebox,& since he couldn't buy a new car, the salesman recommends a used car lot.Anyway he ends up pushing a pacer home into the garage,so peg recommends another used car lot,& it shows him pushing a green 76 gremlin.He makes a comment on how much nicer the gremlin is to push than the pacer because it's lighter.

not trying to correct but it was a "demon" the dodge version of the duster. a duster was my first car in high school and believe it or not, I worked in the shoe section at moores during that time, I will never live it down. |

I watched an episode of married with children where al wants to buy a new car, but peg took his money,so he had to buy a used car.The first car he got was a pacer,& it showed him pushing it home into the garage.The next car he pushes home is a green 76 gremlin.He makes a comment about the gremlin being nicer to push because it was lighter

Dodge did have the demon. The car on the show was actually a plymouth duster,but for some reason they always refered to it as a dodge.I've heard of other people calling plymouth cars dodges,& being a mopar fan that always bothered me.Almost like calling a pontiac a buick just because they are both G.M. |

You're right about the "Dodge" Duster. I kept telling my wife that the car in Al's garage was actually a Plymouth Duster. I guess for their purposes it was close enough. However, in one episode I saw the back of the car and it looked like a Dodge Demon b |
