I am a little confused, as I had the under 16's down as training for that date...
I have to agree with Dave, as they get older they seem to be left to their own devices and fewer and fewer parents are left with more and more work.
Unfortunately, although the volunteers involved in the other teams would love to see the under 16s succeed, they just haven't got the time to help.
We will hopefully hold on to the players from under 13 and downwards as we have a very established setup with these age groups and the parents and coaches tend to know each other well. We have to break the cycle of poaching by other local sides and advertise the matches a little better, at least to our own members.
The other problem is that the games are not visible from the clubhouse as they are at Thurrock and most other clubs, so that even if people are at the club for an afternoon drink, unless they are personally involved with the players they may not make the effort to watch.
I hope it goes well for you next season, but I do understand the monumental effort it takes just to keep the lads together. But it CAN be done.
If there is anything I can do to help that does not include any of my time, I will gladly help.
Don't forget to let me know if there are any changes to your fixtures and I will put it on the website.
