Message:   Well this day started out kinda slow. It turned out to be a long choppy ride out to the islands to what had started out looking like an awesomely calm day.
Left about 9am finally got to Horn around 9:20. It was way to choppy to stay on the inside for a change so we headed around the front side for a while. The first few holes didnt produce anything at all, not even a catfish.

Around 10:30 we headed on down to a sunken shrimpboat. Caught a few bluefish and a couple of small juvenile lings. Had two large ling cross the sandbar right in front of us, but they wouldnt hit anything including live bait and then spooked off. After catching a couple of pole bending, arm tireing large stingrays we decided it was time to head out.

We returned back around to the inside of the island and the chop was gone and the winds had turned from the south to produce some nice waters. The baitfish were popping everywhere so we pulled up along a rown of three other boats and dropped anchor.

After about 15 minutes of catching some nice ground mullet we decided to try for the reds. We threw about a 12"ground mullet on a line and withing 5mins it was singing and running like crazy. This soon turned out to be a nice 18lb. red.(the first of many)

Then the boat next to us hooked up with a nice red and it was surely ON then. Everyone in the vicinity was catching nice reds. We ended up with 8 nice sized Bull Red in the 15 to 22lb range. (pictures are in the gallery)

We have shortly learned that large white trount or ground mullet are awesome BigBull Red baits. Put a hook in the head and one in the back and hang on.

We also hooked up with a few nice sharks. Mostly small one's that are just fun to catch on light gear. We caught two really nice sand sharks. One between 4-5ft and one 5-6ft. Both were caught on live ground mullet.
We ended up with about 5 breakoffs during this trip, presumedly from larger sized sharks.

Over all id rate this trip an 8 out of 10 as far as overall fun. Id rate the sunburn an 11 out of 10.

Dont forget to check out the gallery to see some of the fish we caught on this trip.
